Link Highlighter & Saver Firefox

Link Highlighter & Saver

By: LK68
Highlight links on the current page and save tabs for later—privacy-friendly and permission-light.

Features & Capabilities

This extension highlights links on demand and lets you save the current tab with one click. It requests only the activeTab and storage permissions. The content script is injected only after you click the action, so it doesn’t run on every site by default. There’s no remote code, no inline JavaScript, and no unnecessary permissions. You can adjust the link outline thickness from the built-in Options page to suit your browsing style.

When you click the toolbar button, the extension injects a small content script into the active tab to toggle a CSS outline on links. Because it uses activeTab, access is limited to the tab you explicitly interact with. Saved tabs—including title and URL—appear in the popup, where you can revisit or remove them at any time. Your data stays in the browser’s local storage and never leaves your device.

Under the hood, the extension follows AMO policies and MDN guidance: it uses browser_specific_settings.gecko.id for the add-on ID, avoids remote code, avoids inline scripts, and requests only what it needs to function.
