dataslayer

dataslayer

Debug and test tag management (Google Tag Manager, DTM, Tealium) and analytics implementations.

What is dataslayer?
dataslayer is a Chrome extension that helps debug and test tag management systems (TMS) such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, Tealium, and custom data layers. It also aides in decoding analytics implementations (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Floodlight). The tool provides real-time insights especially useful for data analysts and developers as it supports multiple data layers on a single page, including those in iframes. To prevent data pollution, advanced users can enable blocking of captured tags.

if its got a Slayer background image, it worth it

Works decently well but definitely can and WILL miss events that can be found in the Network logger that clearly went to GA4 but that dataSlayer never saw. Example: form post on a website that hands user off to another site, where the destination page collects the data that was handed off, auto-fills out the form on that page, then takes the user to the next step. The Network console sees a page_view on that handoff page, dataSlayer does NOT. dataSlayer misses stuff, and I'm not sure why.

Lets you see events from previous sessions, which is what I needed it for.
