User Reviews

Yoga | Down Dog is praised for deep customization, a wide class/types library, ease of use, and assets like Nidra and meditation—making it a strong, long-term home practice tool and good value. Common drawbacks include updates that reset saved settings and syncing issues, plus criticisms of the AI voice and beginner accessibility. Overall, it remains a top pick for seasoned practitioners, with some maintenance and onboarding caveats.
Pros
  • Very high customization and variety: multiple yoga styles, durations, and focus areas to tailor each session.
  • Easy to use and quick to set up for daily practice, with simple type/length/area selection and a built-in timer.
  • Soothing, configurable voices and audio options, including different instructors, plus well-integrated video demos.
  • Rich feature set beyond yoga (Yoga Nidra, meditation, breathwork, Pilates, etc.) and additional modes like sleep meditation.
  • Strong value for money and long-term usefulness; many users keep using it for years or find it worth the price.
Cons
  • Updates can erase saved poses and preferences and cross-device syncing can be unreliable, with some users reporting poor or unhelpful support.
  • AI/instructor voice can feel lifeless or less engaging for some users.
  • Not always beginner-friendly; some reviews suggest it’s better with prior in-person practice or familiarity with yoga basics.
  • Free trial or entry pricing terms can be unclear or limiting (e.g., mentioning a short free period) and may deter some users.
  • Occasional glitches or degradation in user experience after updates are reported by some users.

Somatic and haha are my favorite. I was a ballerina for 20+ years and have had a lot of surgery. This has been a godsend🤩

This app has so many customization options that it fits literally any purpose. Dynamic movements for weight loss, Post injury mobility stretches, Warm ups, Cool downs, etc. Plus you can set the timer for anywhere between 5-60 minutes, so whether it’s just a part of your morning routine or a full blown workout, it’s all here. It’s worth the money.
