Refund: Screen Time

You already know how much time you spend on your phone. Knowing the number has never once made you put it down.

Refund asks a different question. Not how long, but why.

HOW IT WORKS

Group the apps that pull at you into a chunk. Instagram and TikTok. Games. Whatever it is for you. Pick how much friction you want when you reach for them.

When you open one, Refund stops you and asks what is actually going on. Bored. Stressed. Lonely. Just need it. You answer in a tap, then decide what happens next.

That answer gets logged. Over a week, a picture forms.

WHAT YOU FIND OUT

You reach when you are bored, almost always after 9pm. You open Social when you are stressed, and you have never once picked an alternative. Your danger window is 5pm to 7pm.

Refund shows you the pattern you could not see from the inside.

IT ADJUSTS TO YOU

The pause is not the same every time. When you are spiraling, it gets slower and asks more of you. When you settle, it gets out of the way on its own. No streaks to maintain. No settings to keep tuning.

Backing out is always free. The friction only ever applies to pushing through.

YOUR OWN WORDS

During setup you write who you want to be, pick one photo of what you want more of, and record a short video to yourself. Those come back at the moment you reach. Not a notification from an app. You, talking to you.

WHAT YOU GET BACK

See the year as it actually is. Days already spent on a screen at your current pace. Days you have taken back. Days still yours.

The time is not gone. It is owed to you.

PRIVACY

Everything stays on your device. No account. No server. Nothing leaves your phone. Refund uses Apple's Screen Time framework and never learns which specific apps you selected.

Refund is not a blocker. Blockers get uninstalled. This is a mirror, and it is on your side.
