| 2026-07-18 | Je***** | Only valid physical credential holders can enroll. Mobile ID doesn’t replace the physical card — some contexts (e.g., law enforcement) may still require it. Not all places accepting a physical ID will accept the Mobile ID. DMV verifies your identity by cross-checking wallet-submitted info against your DMV record before issuing the Mobile ID. DMV shares your personal data with the Digital Wallet provider (e.g., Apple/Google) to enable this. The provider then stores that data under its own separate terms/privacy policy, not DMV’s. DMV can suspend, cancel, or revoke your Mobile ID anytime, without notice, for prohibited use or legal violations. DMV disclaims essentially all liability — for data interception, service interruptions, wallet provider errors, security breaches, malware transmission, etc. You must indemnify DMV (cover their legal costs/damages) for a broad list of scenarios, including third-party claims tied to your use, misuse by someone you gave access to, or even “perceived misrepresentation.” Governed by Virginia law; disputes go to Virginia Circuit Court; jury trial is waived. DMV can change these terms anytime without notice — continued use = acceptance. Areas of concern 1. One-sided liability. DMV disclaims almost all liability (breaches, interruptions, errors, malware) while requiring you to indemnify them broadly, including for third-party claims and “perceived misrepresentation” — a vague standard. 2. No-notice changes. DMV can amend terms anytime without notice; you’re bound by continued use, meaning you’d need to proactively re-check the terms yourself. 3. Data-sharing scope is broad. DMV shares your personal data with the wallet provider, and the provider’s storage/security practices are outside DMV’s control and governed by separate (provider) terms you’d need to review independently. 4. Revocation without notice. DMV can suspend/cancel/revoke your Mobile ID without notice, though this doesn’t necessarily affect your physical credential. 5. Jury trial waiver + fixed venue. You give up jury trial rights and agree disputes go only to Virginia Circuit Court. 6. Acceptance is not universal. The Mobile ID may not be accepted everywhere the physical ID is — practical reliability gap not fully spelled out. 7. “DMV is not liable to you or anyone else for any loss or injury” is an extremely broad blanket disclaimer, likely bounded by Virginia law in practice but stated with no carve-outs. | |

| 2026-07-06 | rk***** | Overall a great idea and will be convenient. Will be much better as it becomes accepted at more places. One frustration is it seems to forget that I have registered. Not sure if that occurs when the app updates, but value is questionable when one goes to use it and gets prompted to register again. Happened twice to me so far! | |
