User Reviews

Sonar is a visually impressive, highly configurable health dashboard that excels at aggregating data from many sources and delivering deep analytics, with strong support. However, users repeatedly report data accuracy and syncing issues, limitations with Apple Watch complications, distracting UI elements, and pricing concerns. Overall, it has strong potential as a one-stop health data hub, but reliability and cost barriers remain the main reasons some users hesitate or switch to competitors.
Pros
  • Beautiful, highly configurable UI and dashboards that are visually appealing.
  • Strong multi-source data integration, consolidating data from Strava, Apple Health, Cronometer, Withings, Oura, Peloton, and more.
  • Deep analytics with drill-down dashboards and actionable insights.
  • Responsive, helpful customer support and proactive issue resolution.
  • Good data handling with no duplicate entries when combining sources.
Cons
  • Data accuracy issues across metrics (HR, HRV, zones, pace) compared to other data sources.
  • Sync and integration reliability problems, including internal errors and incomplete data from Strava, Cronometer, and Apple Health.
  • Pricing concerns: $50/year, lack of pricing transparency, and subscription requirements for adding more devices.
  • UI clutter and UX glitches: distracting background photos, excessive taps, and charts that reset ranges or are hard to customize.
  • Inconsistent Apple Watch integration: buggy complications, lag updates, and blank watch faces.

While other apps continue to get better, Sonar goes the other way. Ever since Sonar got the AI, months after everyone else, the AI tells me to take it easy, every day!!!Athlytic says I’m ready to train today. Bevel says today is a legendary recovery day. Sonar says sit on the couch all day, buddy. Take it easy “every” day.
