User Reviews

Boostcamp is strong for its free, structured workout programs and solid tracking, appealing to both beginners and trainers alike. However, users repeatedly report stability issues, UI regressions after updates, and limitations editing custom workouts, plus rough discovery and billing experiences. The core value remains, but stability, flexible customization, and smoother onboarding need attention to sustain long-term loyalty.
Pros
  • Comprehensive, free workout programs and routines suitable for beginners and long-time users.
  • Strong progress tracking with weights, reps, sets, and history (e.g., previous workout data readily visible).
  • Suitable for trainers and professionals; built-in programs designed to resemble professional programming.
  • Positive UI/UX aspects that improve tracking and usability (clear UI for tracking, visibility of past metrics).
  • Valuable free core features and substantial program options without needing an immediate pro upgrade.
Cons
  • Performance and reliability issues (latency, unresponsiveness, slow navigation, and broken/lagging rest timers after updates, plus occasional crashes or black screens).
  • Inflexible customization: you can't edit or tweak a custom workout once created and you can’t save mid-program progress without recreating the plan.
  • UI/UX regressions after updates: the new UI is inconsistent, less intuitive, with moved buttons and design choices that many users want to revert.
  • Discovery and navigation problems: difficulty finding exercises or programs (limited search by muscle groups), and occasional discovery page loading failures.
  • Pricing/upsell and billing issues: aggressive offers early in the flow and unexpected charges or billing confusion around sales.
Recent reviews
I’m sure you know that the recent update broke the timers and the app now closes and opens inconsistently. Please fix it. Edit: please test your app more. You replied to say it’s fixed, and it is not. Really unhappy I bought a year of premium right now.

Good so far after using it for a few weeks. The only complaint I have is that they make it very hard to use the free version when you get started. I swear I had to decline six offers before it let me start logging for free.
