User Reviews

Powerlift Pro combines a strong toolkit of bar-loading, calculators, and a training library with a user-friendly interface. Many users praise its practical tools and value for money. However, recurring reliability problems, confusing billing practices, and inflexible workout scheduling significantly temper the experience. Additional friction from repetitive data entry and missing progress-saving features further impact usability. Overall, the app excels in functionality and utility for powerlifters, but stability and billing practices hinder broad adoption.
Pros
  • Bar loading and weight planning tools (bar loader and plate converters) are consistently praised across reviews.
  • Extensive calculators and an exercise library support training and technique.
  • User-friendly interface and overall ease of use praised by users.
  • Built-in RPE calculator available to users, including in the free tier.
  • Perceived value and economical tools for powerlifting training.
Cons
  • Frequent reliability issues: crashes, freezes, and endless loading screens after updates or during use.
  • Billing and subscription problems: charges after cancellation, paywalls to access features, and price changes.
  • Scheduling rigidity: inability to easily change or skip workout days and inflexible daily progression.
  • Data entry friction: repetitive RPE input, re-typing numbers, and input loss or erasure.
  • Lack of progress-saving features (e.g., saving weights/rest periods) which hinders tracking progress.

The app is clunky and the ai programming is out of whack. The first day of programming was Squat 1x3 followed by Squat 3x3’s unless I misunderstood. Navigation looks intuitive until you realize that the app is unnecessarily clunky. I was really hoping for more, but u fortunately this app fell short of the mark for me.

Something is off with this company, I signed up for the free trial on 8/3 which I was told would last until the renewal date of 9/3. I have many apps so I cancelled this one a week or so after signing up just to keep everything in order. I was actually considering renewing on 9/3 because I liked the workouts, but then for some reason I got charged at a completely random time AFTER canceling, then being told I would be charged again on 9/3. Not sure if these ppl make their money by depending on customers not paying attention to subscription charges, but I’m not gonna be a part of that. Very misleading, very dishonest. A complete joke

The program is good. I can see the promise of progress, but the app lacks some basic info. I should be able to see my last lift for a given exercise. If I have my maxes put in and the exercise calls for 70% of my max, the app should input that value for me or at least suggest it. It should be able navigate away from the bar loader and it not erase all the info I put in there.
