Page Highlighter & Notes (Template) Firefox

Page Highlighter & Notes (Template)

Highlight selected text on any page with one click and keep your preferred highlight color.

Features & Capabilities

This extension lets you highlight selected text on a page instantly. It adds a browser action and a context menu so you can highlight with a single click after making a selection. You can choose your favorite highlight color in the settings and the extension remembers it using built in storage.

The extension is designed to be lightweight and safe. It uses only the permissions it needs and injects its content script only when you interact with the popup or the context menu. There are no remote scripts or analytics and there is no use of unsafe innerHTML. All user interface code is separated from HTML to avoid inline scripts. The content script applies highlights by wrapping the selected range, so your text stays readable while being clearly marked for later reference. If a selection cannot be highlighted because it crosses incompatible nodes the extension fails gracefully without altering the page structure.

Because the functionality is focused it stays fast and predictable. You can rely on it when reading articles documentation or research where quickly marking passages matters. The options page gives you a simple color picker that syncs your choice across Firefox profiles which makes the tool consistent in daily use.
