Instant Highlighter Firefox

Instant Highlighter

By: ME88
Highlight selected text on any page with one click and your favorite color.

Features & Capabilities

Instant Highlighter lets you mark any selected text on any website with a single click, using a color you choose in the Options page. It injects a tiny content script only when you act, keeping permissions minimal and your browsing fast. It does not collect data or make network requests. The add-on relies solely on the activeTab permission to access the current tab after a user action and the storage permission to remember your color preference. The interface is simple: a popup with buttons to highlight the current selection or clear previous highlights. Highlights are applied by wrapping your selection in <mark> elements—no unsafe innerHTML, no inline scripts, no remote code. It’s lightweight, privacy-respecting, and built to comply with AMO policies.
