How in the world this "Application Launcher" can not allow me to select a file in google drive and then launch it with Microsoft Excel or Word or Powerpoint... Unbelievable! Then again - Google would rather piss off users and keep us hostage to their apps.. Not a good thing.

Works well syncs and files between Drive and a Windows folder. Not intuitive to configure however. After installation use Google Drive tooltray app to add accounts (up to 4) then Preferences and select Google Drive and switch to Mirror Files option.
