User reviews

Users generally liked OneLogin for Chrome when it worked reliably, offering faster access to Single Sign-On sites. However, multiple reviews report that recent updates have introduced critical issues: frequent login failures with errors, inability to autofill passwords, broken site integrations (e.g., YouTube, OAuth), and persistent console errors. The extension is slow and conflicts with keyboard shortcuts, making it frustrating. Though some find it reliable, many express dissatisfaction, citing lost productivity and concerns about the extension's intrusive permissions and poor developer support.
Pros
  • The extension used to work well in the past for quick and easy login to OneLogin portal and SSO sites.
  • Some users reported no issues and found it reliable.
  • It was appreciated for speeding up the login process before recent issues.
Cons
  • Currently, the extension frequently throws "internal server error" and requires reinstalling to resolve session problems.
  • It often fails to load passwords or auto-fill credentials, forcing manual entry.
  • After recent updates, it breaks interactions with sites like YouTube, causing display and functionality problems.
  • The extension injects unnecessary query parameters that break OAuth and LTI integrations.
  • The extension creates console errors (Unchecked runtime.lastError) which annoy developers.
  • It has conflicts with keyboard shortcuts such as Cmd+U, interfering with other applications.
  • Many users find it slow to load and unreliable, resulting in wasted time.
  • Some report privacy concerns due to permissions to read/change data on all websites.

this app doesn't do anything. you still need the code from the phone app to sign in. i don't need an app to go to my organizations website—i can do that on my own. i thought this app would avoid me using the phone to generate the code. useless.

The extension needs serious attention from the developer. It used to be optional but is now required. Since that has happened, I have to remove the extension and add it back to chrome every time my OneLogin session expires. I get "internal server error" when I try to load a site from the OneLogin portal. Then I remove the extension, add it again, and I am able to log in from the portal. But once my session expires, I get another "internal server error," even after I've authenticated in OneLogin. This used to be a good extension but is barely functional presently. I'm up to date. on both Chrome and the extension versions.

Extension safety

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

OneLogin for Google Chrome requires a lot of sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
