User Reviews

Users report a largely dysfunctional Aer Lingus iOS app with frequent login/account issues, unreliable boarding-pass/check-in access, and delayed or missing flight-status updates. Cross-platform errors and poor performance exacerbate problems, while booking can be blocked by security checks. A minority view the concept positively and see potential for self-service when it works, but overall reviews indicate serious reliability and UX problems across the app.
Pros
  • One reviewer called it 'the best app to book a flight on.'
  • The app is intended to support digital self-service for Aer Lingus flights (booking and managing trips).
  • The app represents a potential convenient digital channel for travel management when functioning.
Cons
  • Flight status and gate information do not update in a timely or accurate manner (delays, gate changes, no terminal maps).
  • Inability to access boarding passes or complete check-in via the app; QR codes often fail and boarding-pass related tasks are unreliable.
  • Login and account access problems (password creation failures, password resets failing, two-factor authentication mandatory, 'booking could not be found' errors).
  • Booking and payment friction (issues using US credit cards, security blocks, difficulty changing dates with fees, personal info not saved).
  • Performance and reliability issues (slow app, too many clicks, blank screens or crashes, 'Opps! Wrong method' errors, inconsistent behavior across platforms).

App needs A LOT OF WORK. Doesn’t interact with connecting airlines. Not user friendly.

I have tried numerous times to check my flights through their app and it keeps telling me that I need to update the app, but nothing happens an cannot log in. Very frustrating.
