User Reviews

The BA iOS app is widely criticized for instability and unreliable behavior. The most recurring issues are crashes, failed check-ins/boarding passes, and incomplete flight or booking data, along with a slow, clunky UI and troublesome login/profile handling. While a few notes mention basic usefulness and independence in travel tasks, the overall sentiment is that the app is not dependable and often pushes users to use the website instead.
Pros
  • Gives users independence to manage travel tasks on the go (check-in and booking changes).
  • Offers basic functionality for checking in and accessing flight information when the app works.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and overall instability on launch and during use.
  • Inability to check in or obtain boarding passes; incorrect 24/36-hour messaging and boarding passes not showing or not saving to Apple Wallet.
  • Difficulty viewing or modifying bookings; issues with finding flights, changing seats, or processing payments; occasional incorrect baggage charges.
  • Clunky, slow UI with inconsistent data and multiple browser-like loads inside the app.
  • Login and profile problems, including being logged out, two-factor/passcode issues, and TSA/Known Traveler information not consistently saved.
Recent reviews
Nearly every interaction regarding my flight results in loading BA’s website instead of serving content directly within the app. Ironically, once the website loads within the app - a banner appears encouraging me to download the app. Each time I view my flight, it insists for me to update the same contact info and then subsequently emails me alerting me that someone else in my party updated my contact info. So wild. Investing in a more robust app could very well save the human customer support resources tied up to help passengers make sense of this app’s bologna interface.
