Review summary
Pros
- Easy to report issues to the City of Austin; a convenient alternative to phone calls
- Ability to attach photos and GPS/location data to reports; providing context and speeding handling
- Some reports receive updates and quick responses, with observed on-site action (e.g., forwarded to 911/Public Works; officer visits)
- Useful for tasks like graffiti removal and pruning; GPS/photo context helps
- Simple, quick workflow for submitting requests compared to the website
Cons
- App crashes or instability (startup crashes, white screen)
- Core features broken or unusable after updates (New Request not working; photo attachments limited to initial step; broken search)
- Many reports are closed without resolution, leading to frustration and doubt about efficacy
- Limited scope and feature removals (homeless encampment reporting removed; not all issues reportable; power outages not supported)
- Location/account issues (GPS mislocation, inability to locate user, account lookup failures)

| 2026-02-15 | Mi***** | I downloaded the app to report a bunch of commercials cars parked outside of my apartment, some blocking fire hydrants or just blocking the dumpster area but so far nothing has been done and by the way other reviews have also reported the same it looks like it never will so what’s the point of this app? There’s no enforcement at all so anyone can just park where they feel like it I guess | |

| 2026-02-15 | Gr***** | This is not an app to report a power outage or needing the police to come or anything like that – it’s just for reporting things like debris in the road, dead animals, etc. Stuff you would normally call 311 about. If you have a power outage, the Austin Energy app is great for that. My only complaint is that one time I reported an unsafe new traffic pattern and they closed it as inspected no action required, but lo and behold two months later they fixed it. I wish I knew if they had planned to fix it before or they thought they didn’t have to fix it and then enough people complained and then they did. Just curious. | |

| 2025-10-08 | Re***** | App keeps crashing. Even after deleting and reinstalling the app and making sure it’s running on the latest version on IPhone 16 Pro - seems like during ACL weekend it maybe over loaded. | |

| 2024-08-02 | Pa***** | Forget phone calls and emails, this 311 app is the BEST way to contact City of Austin about issues. Whether or not your issue ultimately gets resolved, submissions to this app always get a quick response so it's so worth downloading and using. | |

| 2024-02-15 | He***** | There was nothing wrong with the previous 311 app and the new one is a downgrade. The first step is “what are you reporting” that does nothing. You still have to choose what you are trying to report. You can’t add a picture to the actual request, only at the first “what are you here for”. It’s clunky. I hope city of Austin didn’t spend a lot of money on this “upgrade” if so you wasted our tax money. Whoever chose this software made a mistake. | |

| 2023-07-14 | Ni***** | If you report an issue to 311, your ticket will be closed out without any resolution and the issue will go unfixed. You’d think our ridiculously high property taxes would give you more in return | |

| 2023-01-12 | So***** | The “New Request” option in the app no longer works/opens at all, which is the entire reason for the app. Granted, the copyright for the app is 2009-2020 so it’s possible they didn’t think it would last this long. | |
