User Reviews

The app is praised for its well-made, progressive training and effectiveness in building pull-up strength, plus the overall quality of Zen Labs apps. However, multiple reviews highlight a forced subscription after updates, loss of previously purchased content, frequent bugs, and a poor beginner onboarding experience that makes starting the program confusing.
Pros
  • Well-made, progressive, and easy-to-follow training programs.
  • Adaptive/customizable workouts that fit your fitness level.
  • Proven effectiveness at increasing pull-ups and achieving milestones.
  • Quality Zen Labs ecosystem with consistent app quality across the suite.
Cons
  • Forced subscription after updates and lockout of features with poor grandfathering.
  • Loss of access to previously purchased content after updates.
  • Technical bugs: crashes, timer issues, and timers not running in the background as needed.
  • Difficult beginner onboarding: initial week too hard and unclear where to start.

Used to be a free app on the last platform I used now they want you to sign up for premium after 2 weeks and lock the rest.

What I love about all of your other apps is that I feel successful right from the beginning. This one is too difficult from the start and I need to cheat.

To the developers: if you are working this program, you are, inevitably, going to hit a sticking point and have to repeat a workout until you can complete it. The app needs to deal with this. I should be able to attempt a workout, record what I was able to do, have the app keep track, and not remind me the next day to workout again. In other words, there needs to be something between “I never even attempted this workout” and “I successfully completed all reps and all sets and I ready to move to the next day”.
