When you open an app you've registered, this comes up first:

That's all it does. It doesn't make you wait, it doesn't lecture you, and it doesn't stop you. It shows you the number and makes you choose. The judgement is yours.

■ How it works

• Pick the apps you want watched, once. It uses Apple's Screen Time, so any app works
• Turning away does not raise the number. Only going in is counted
• From the 3rd time today, you write why you're going in before you can. Next time you write one, we show you what you wrote last time
• Once you go in, it stays quiet for 15 minutes
• The day turns over at 4 AM. YouTube at 2 AM counts as yesterday

• Watch 2 apps
• Today's count, running total, and a turned-away chart (all apps or one)
• 1 goal date — shown as a countdown on the prompt screen (exams, tests, deadlines)

■ Subscription

• Watch up to 50 apps
• Daily limit — set how many times a day you may go in. Raising it takes effect the next day
• Active hours — it only asks during the hours you set (say 09:00 to 18:00)
• Usage reminders — a nudge at 5 and 10 minutes of actual use
• Save and switch between several goal dates
• My Pattern: how often you tried and how often you turned away, and the hours you waver most

■ Everything stays on your device There is no server. There is no account. We do not collect what you look at or how long you use it. We count how many times you opened it, and that number never leaves your phone.
