User Reviews

Reviews consistently praise the hourly reminders, simplicity, and daily peace the app supports. The main recurring drawbacks are repetition in guidance and accessibility/structure gaps. Overall, Practicing Presence is easy to use and impactful for daily calm and anxiety relief, with opportunities to expand session variety and accessibility while keeping its simple design.
Pros
  • Regular hourly reminders to pause and breathe help users stay present throughout the day.
  • Simple, easy-to-use interface that feels powerful and becomes part of the daily routine.
  • Promotes presence, grounding, and peace, with tangible benefits for anxiety and daily life.
  • Works across devices (iPhone and iPad) for convenient access.
Cons
  • Repetitive guiding voice with lengthy initial teaching; users want more variety or the ability to bypass explanations after becoming familiar.
  • Accessibility gaps: some videos lack captions; requests for a reader option/reading mode to accompany or replace audio.
  • Some users desire a more structured or guided approach beyond the current format.
Recent reviews
I’ve been using this app for a little while now, and I love it for how helpful it is. I get regular reminders to stop and be present, and even have an option to sit for a longer period with a guided meditation/contemplation. The one thing I wish it had was more variety in the longer sessions. The voice that guides me initially was helpful as she offered some explanation and teaching about the practice of presence, but after about the 4th or 5th time, I didn’t need to hear about how to breathe or what to focus on. I wish she would recognize that I’m familiar and move to more of a guide. Perhaps with different lessons, or at least she could bypass all the talking for new practitioners for future sits. Perhaps she could encourage a different breathing pattern, or sacred word. Or just jump into the practice instead of spending minutes teaching me what she’s taught me so many times before.
