Extension summary

Block distracting websites and get inspired to focus on what's important. You want to be productive and spend your time online in a purposeful way. But it can difficult with all of the online distractions out there. There are plenty of other tools like Block site and StayFocusd that block you from accessing Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest or whatever your Internet vice might be, and others like Momentum that inspire you every time you open a new tab, but Focus stands out by helping you to get back to what's important.

On the options page, record which websites you want to be blocked from. When attempting to reach that page, our blocked page will show an inspirational message on top of a high-resolution image. Hopefully with that little inspiration, you'll be back to work.

Focus also offers in-app purchases where you can record your epic dream and be reminded of it every time you try to get to a blocked page. Imagine all the time you'll spend working on achieving your biggest dreams instead of mindlessly surfing the Internet.

User reviews

great

It would be great to temporarily allow access to the blocked sites within a specific time budget per day/week/month.

This is so, so close to being perfect. I found that it helps redirect my muscle memory/mindless typing of websites that I go to to distract myself. It's nice to catch myself when it happens with a nice reminder why I'm avoiding the sites. It's also nice it read a good inspirational quote which is usually just enough to sate the need to be momentarily distracted. Focus also gets points for the ease of set up. Some similar apps feel too convoluted and confusing to be worthwhile. But to echo what some other reviewers have said, there should be a way to temporarily allow access to sites. For example, I sometimes need to access social media sites for my job. It's a bit of a pain to go into the app and delete the site from the list and then add it again. Or, open a non-Chrome browser in order to access the site. Also, I'm not able to see all of the sites that I've blocked. Otherwise, it's great! I'm planning on using this still but it would be great to add some of the tweaks that others (myself included) have suggested. Thanks!
