NSRI SafeTrx

The NSRI SafeTrx app is the official mobile application from the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), designed to enhance safety for boaters by allowing easy registration of vessel and journey details right from your smartphone. Users can register their contact and vessel information through a straightforward process and plan journeys by selecting starting points, waypoints, destinations, estimated time of arrival (ETA), trip type, and the number of persons on board.

Once set sail is pressed, the app registers the journey with NSRI's server and starts regular position reporting. If the journey exceeds the ETA, emergency contacts are automatically alerted. The app also allows users to update their trip details or end the trip at any time. Although the NSRI SafeTrx app supports safety at sea, it does not replace essential maritime safety equipment such as the Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS), and users should exercise caution and not rely solely on the app in emergencies.
