Trossi (SMPS) SafeTrx is the official mobile application of the Finnish Lifeboat Society designed to enhance boating safety. It allows users to register boat services and trips, plan routes, and monitor journeys in real-time with ease. After simple sign-up and verification, users can create detailed trip plans by selecting their vessel, route, passengers, and estimated arrival times. The app then continuously sends position updates to a secure server.

SafeTrx provides essential safety features such as automatic notifications to emergency contacts if a trip goes overdue, storage of trip history with playback capabilities, and access to the nearest rescue stations and vessels of the Sea Rescue Society. Users also receive important safety messages and can manage their profile, vessels, and emergency contacts within the app. The app is designed to be energy efficient during background GPS use, ensuring reliable monitoring with minimal battery drain.
