That separate minute counter, the stopwatch, the mental arithmetic at every minute boundary: it can all go. Tach'oClock reads your tachograph directly over Bluetooth and tells you exactly when you may pull away and when you have to stand still, AND makes sure the tacho goes to rest AUTOMATICALLY over the Bluetooth link. Choose the 29 or 58 second setting, or let the app decide what fits best at that moment. Our app is entirely legal, it uses the statutory arrangement EU no 1266/2009 and is an aid for drivers.

WHAT IT IS ABOUT
A minute in which you stood still more than you drove is recorded by the tachograph as standstill. Your rest period simply runs on through it. So you can move the vehicle without breaking your break, provided you come to a stop in time. That "in time" is the whole problem, and that is what this app solves. Using the statutory 60 second arrangement you can legally move your vehicle without breaking your rest period.

WHAT YOU SEE
A traffic light: green means you may drive, amber means nearly stop, red means stop or wait.
A large counter with the seconds you have left, readable from your seat.
A warning at ten seconds, with sound, and more urgent from five.
Your uninterrupted rest so far, so you can see what is at stake.
A count of on time and too late, because practice helps.

THREE MODES
58 seconds for driving on, 29 seconds for shunting, and dynamic: the app then works out at each moment how many seconds you may still drive.

ON A VDO IT IS AUTOMATIC
If you also pair the remote interface (RHMI), Tach'oClock puts your VDO back to rest automatically after driving. On a Stoneridge you do that by hand: the app gives the signal, you set it to the bed symbol. The counter, the traffic light and the warning work exactly the same in both cases. Prefer to set it yourself on a VDO? Then you switch it off.

PRACTISE WITHOUT A LORRY
The app contains a simulator. You slide the speed up and down yourself and see the same traffic light, the same counter and the same recording per minute as in the cab. Including the two second delay of the Bluetooth connection, because in real life that is the difference between on time and too late. You enter a rest period and try to keep it intact while driving. Getting it wrong costs you nothing there.

WHAT YOU NEED
A VDO Smart Tacho 2, G2v1 or G2v2, with software version 04.01.40 (DTCO 4.1a) as a minimum. You read that version on the tacho itself, via Display, Vehicle, DTCO Version. Further, Bluetooth on and your driver card in slot 1. Stoneridge works too; there you set the tacho to rest yourself and it does NOT happen automatically.
