New Tab Beside is a simple yet powerful Firefox extension designed to enhance tab management. Unlike many other browsers, Firefox does not natively open new tabs or duplicate tabs directly beside the current one. This extension fills that gap by allowing users to open a new tab or duplicate an existing one immediately next to the active tab, streamlining browsing and organization.

Users can easily access these features via the context menu by right-clicking on a tab or anywhere on a webpage. Additionally, convenient hotkeys are provided: Ctrl/Command+Shift+1 to open a new tab beside the current one, and Ctrl/Command+Shift+2 to duplicate the current tab beside it. The extension is designed to remain compatible even as Firefox updates its own duplicate tab feature, which currently does not duplicate tabs beside the one right-clicked on. New Tab Beside improves everyday browsing workflow and is used by its own creator daily.
