Walk today, scroll tomorrow
Yesterday's movement funds today's scrolling.
Tollgait turns the steps you took yesterday into today's screen-time budget. Spend it, and your chosen apps close.
Most screen-time apps let you negotiate. Tollgait doesn't, because the deal was already settled yesterday.
WHY YESTERDAY?
Same-day apps have a flaw: at 11 PM, when your willpower is at its lowest, you can still panic-walk your way into another hour of scrolling. Tollgait funds today from yesterday. There is nothing to negotiate. You either banked the movement or you didn't.
HOW IT WORKS
- Walk today, and tomorrow's budget builds as you move.
- At 4 AM, yesterday's steps become today's minutes.
- Open one of your gated apps and the clock runs.
- When the budget is spent, the gate closes until the next rollover.
You choose which apps are gated and how many minutes 1,000 steps buys.
BUILT SO YOU CAN'T TALK YOUR WAY AROUND IT
- Changes that make things easier, like a better exchange rate, wait until the next rollover. Changes that make things stricter apply immediately.
- Hand-entered step data is ignored. Only movement your device actually recorded counts.
- Websites are gated too, so the browser isn't a free lane around a blocked app.
- If something goes wrong, the gate stays shut. It fails closed, never open.
EMERGENCY PASS
Real life happens. A few times a day you can open the gate for a few minutes. It's visible, it's counted, and it runs out.
TOLLGAIT PREMIUM
Slow wake-up: instead of the gate opening while you sleep, it waits until you open Tollgait, then holds ten minutes longer. The day starts deliberately, not with scrolling in bed.
Workout lock: your gated apps stay shut for the length of a workout, so the hour you set aside to move doesn't quietly turn into an hour on your phone. Start it from Control Center without unlocking your phone, ask Siri, or tap it in the app. It lifts on its own after 90 minutes if you forget.
Themes: trade the mountains at dusk for deep water that flattens to glass as the day is spent, or a rainforest that darkens into a storm. Whichever you pick carries through to your Home Screen widgets.
The free app stays complete. Gating, budgets, the exchange rate, the emergency pass and the rollover hour are free, permanently. Premium adds friction and polish, never protection.
