Features & Capabilities

Log sets, reps and RIR. Routines built from your equipment and training history, on your phone. No account, no tracking.

Your fitness. Your project.

A free workout logger with Smart Rotation — adaptive routines built from your training history, goals, and equipment. Log sets, track progress, get personalized workouts. No subscription, no paywall, no ads.

— Why this exists —

I wanted to build a consistent workout routine. So I tried the apps everyone recommends. They all wanted $15 to $30 per month just to log sets and reps. I'm a developer. So I built my own.

Fit Project is what I use every day at the gym. It does the things a serious workout log should do, and skips the things that get in the way.

— Smart Rotation —

A rule-based engine that builds your week from: • Your equipment — every bar, plate, dumbbell, and machine you've configured • Your goal — strength, hypertrophy, or endurance • Your frequency and session length • Your real training history — muscle fatigue, weekly volume, recently used exercises

The algorithm runs on your phone. Same inputs, same workout. Not AI, not a black box.

— Logging that doesn't compromise —

• Working sets and warm-up sets, tracked separately • Reps in Reserve (RIR) per exercise • Rest timer that adjusts on the fly, with a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island (iOS 16.1+) • Weight in kg or lb — your choice • Drift warning when you accidentally log 100× more than last time • Per-exercise progress inside the workout: strength curve, total volume, recent history

— Equipment that matches your gym —

• Inventory your exact bars, plates with quantities, dumbbell pairs, kettlebells, machines, cables, bench, pull-up bar • Smart Rotation prescribes only weights you can actually load • Custom weights for non-standard equipment • Bodyweight and added-weight modes for pull-ups and dips

— Progress you can read —

• Strength curve — estimated 1RM over 90 days • Weekly volume with trend percentage • Muscle group balance — radar chart over 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, or all-time • Top exercises with sparkline trends • Per-exercise session history with set summaries

— Templates when you want them —

• Build your own routines, drag-reorder, set values to "auto" or fix them • Browse curated splits — Push/Pull/Legs, Upper/Lower, Full Body • Mix Smart Rotation and templates day by day

— Privacy by design —

All data is on your device. Workout history is encrypted with SQLCipher. No account. No analytics. No third-party SDKs. No tracking. The app makes no network calls after install. Export everything as JSON and import it back, any time.

— What it doesn't have —

No social feed. No coach DMs. No premium tier to unlock the plate calculator. No ads. No "transform your life" copy. No Apple Watch, HealthKit, or cloud sync in this release. Just a tool to track the work.

— Free, forever —

The core app is free. There is no subscription, no paywall on logging, no upsell. If a paid tier is ever added, the things you use today will stay free.

— Built by someone who lifts —

Fit Project started as a personal tool — something used every single day at the gym. If something feels off, that's a bug.
