User Reviews

Users generally praise The Bulwark app for centralizing content, a clean interface, high-quality analysis, and solid value for subscribers. Repeated drawbacks focus on media reliability (video/audio playback and captions), podcast feed issues (outdated episodes, playback stops), navigation/format usability, and accessibility concerns such as small comment text. Overall, the app is valued for content and convenience, with reliability and UI usability as the main improvement targets.
Pros
  • All Bulwark content centralized in one place (articles, podcasts, Bulwark Takes) for easy access
  • Clean, easy-to-use UI with smooth performance
  • High-quality, trusted political analysis from a broad range of voices
  • Strong value for subscribers and a sense of community
  • Substack-free experience with easier, unified access (no separate Substack login)
Cons
  • Media playback problems across video/audio (stutters, slow loads, jank) and occasional missing captions
  • Podcast feed instability (outdated episodes, playback stopping/resuming issues)
  • Navigation/format can feel non-intuitive or not easy to navigate
  • Comments readability issues (small print, cannot easily expand)

BW really is the better writing and the array of subjects are impressive. From “justhitmeintheheadwithabat” news ( courteous of MSW listener), Every day it’s where’s my bat today news? I swear I’m JVL’s long lost sister. His supposed dark side I’d rather “Listentothetruththanbeliedto”. Thanks!

Smart news and politics with a centrist heart and they won’t take any baloney from gaslighting authoritarian sex offenders in the Epstein Class. Perfect.

Overall, I love the Bulwark app—much better than Substack. One glitch: The feed for the Bukwark+ Takes podcast is almost always way out of date. Today, May 4, for example, the most recent episode it shows is April 6.
