Media Support Containers: mp4, m4v & mov -> direct play mkv -> direct stream (remux) avi -> direct play (limited, some will transcode)

Video: mpeg4 (limited, some will transcode), h264, h265, vp9

Dynamic Ranges: SDR, HLG, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision Profiles 5, 7, 8.1, and 8.4

Audio up to 7.1 channels: aac, ac3, eac3 + Atmos, alac, flac, opus, vorbis

Subtitles: PGS, WebVTT, SRT, and ASS DVDSUBS/VoSubs Is supported via transcode (make sure your Jellyfin server allows transcoding)

Transcoding is only used when necessary, such as with MKV files using unsupported codecs. For the smoothest playback experience, we recommend enabling transcoding on your server.

A note on Jellyfin playback: Playback uses Jellyfin's official APIs leveraging its powerful transcoding engine and the native Apple TV video player. Whether your media direct plays, remuxes, or transcodes depends entirely on the media format and its compatibility with AVPlayer. JellySee doesn't re-encode or modify anything on the client side like Infuse. With that being said, for the most optimal playback experience, please enable transcoding.
