IDHEApp

The IDHEApp is part of the IDHEapp project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Program. The main objective of the project is to raise awareness about a healthy lifestyle, provide digital resources and analyse the use of technology for health management. In this regard the IDHEApp plays a crucial role as it was created to promote health by encouraging physical activity, improving eating habits and the responsible use of digital technology by creating an accessible digital intervention to improve the overall wellbeing of young people with intellectual disabilities. In order to reach these objectives, the app measures variables primarily related to physical activity, sleep quality, and eating habits. It encourages the adoption of healthy habits through the completion of various challenges that the user will overcome. Variables such as sitting time, number of steps, and hours of sleep, among others, can be tracked through the app and its connection to a smart watch. Users have the opportunity to monitor their progress, as well as that of other users, through the incorporation of an internal ranking system within the app as a gamification tool. The app offers the following features: ● Track Your Health Data: IDHEAPP connects seamlessly with smartwatches, including Fitbit devices, allowing you to monitor a wide range of health metrics. From tracking the number of steps you take, to monitoring how long you've been sitting, IDHEAPP gives you full visibility into your physical activity. It also tracks your sleep quality, helping you understand your sleep patterns and providing insights into how you can improve your rest through some of its challenges. ● Daily Challenges to Keep You Motivated: IDHEAPP encourages you to adopt healthy habits through daily, weekly and monthly challenges. Each day, you'll be presented with new physical activities, nutritional goals and interactive quizzes designed to educate and inspire. Whether it’s completing a certain number of steps, reducing your sitting time, or learning about healthier food choices, the app provides a fun and rewarding way to stay on track. You can view your progress directly on the app's homepage, ensuring that the user stays motivated to reach the health goals. ● Smart Integration with Fitbit: IDHEAPP is fully compatible with the Fitbit ecosystem, meaning that the data captured by your smartwatch syncs to the app. This seamless integration ensures access to accurate health data without needing to manually enter information, making it easier to focus on improving wellbeing. ● Comprehensive Progress Tracker: Keeping track of your health journey has never been easier. IDHEAPP includes a built-in calendar feature where users can visualise their completed tasks, daily and weekly achievements and plan future health activities. The app's intuitive interface helps users stay organised and motivated, with the calendar acting as a visual representation of their progress toward a healthier lifestyle. ● Ranking System (Gamification): To add an element of fun and motivation, IDHEAPP includes a gamified ranking system. This feature allows users to see how they rank compared to other users, promoting healthy competition and community engagement. Whether you’re challenging yourself or competing with friends, the leaderboard adds an exciting dimension to your health journey, encouraging you to push yourself to reach new milestones. ● Badges for good actions: In addition to overcoming challenges, participants receive badges for achieving certain healthy actions as a reward and incentive to continue developing healthy lifestyle habits through nutritional and sports activities.
