User Reviews

The reviews praise Cali Move for strong, adaptive programs, clear guidance, and a good interface with helpful videos. Common negatives are stability bugs during workouts, a contentious paywall model that alienates long-time customers, and UX issues like limited content skipping and unclear progression feedback. Access problems around purchases/add-ons also recur. Overall, users value the content and adaptability but want reliability, smoother navigation, and friendlier pricing.”} -} should be valid JSON object per schema, final message ends. The final should be the JSON object only.} (Note: The assistant should provide only the JSON, no extra commentary.)}{
Pros
  • High-quality, well-structured calisthenics programs with clear guidance.
  • Adaptive progression using RIR/RPE to tailor difficulty to the user.
  • Helpful explainer videos with clear demonstrations.
  • Intuitive interface and rating system that helps keep users within the program.
  • Scheduling and progression that adapt to the user’s life and goals.
Cons
  • Frequent stability issues and workout-bug crashes (e.g., start button spinning, screens going blank, playback pauses).
  • Paywall and changes to app licensing that gate content for existing customers and feel unfriendly to long-time users.
  • UX/navigation limitations (difficulty skipping around content, long waits for clips to restart, and unclear progression/range feedback).
  • Inconsistent access to purchased add-ons or content (mobility/other add-ons not appearing or syncing in the app).

I really love this app and the programs. My only suggestion for the devs is if you can make it so that on pausing an exercise, i can still see the exercise being performed and the exercise information. Most of the time when I pause its not for a rest but rather I need to take a moment to see the exercise more because i feel im doing it wrong. But when I pause I cantsee the exercise, and when unpaused the timer continues while i really just need some time to check out the exercise more

i’ve been using the complete calisthenics program for about a month and am getting a lot of value out of it, so I decided to purchase the mobility add-on. However, I can’t get the mobility program to give me more than two sessions a week, despite adjusting the days to say that I’d like four a week. is there a fix for this or is there something i’m not understanding?

I use this app to fill in between lifts and training. I really enjoyed the legacy CaliMove program for its solid exercises and direction. I really struggle with this app. I am very close to cancelling my subscriptions. I need the app to allow me to skip around at will for both the exercises and the training clips. I am wasting so much time waiting for training clips to restart and also with restarting while exercise sessions when I have to take time to practice or learn. I am having a real problems with the range and progression. I need the app to not make me wait between weeks to figure out the right part in the exercise progression. I also need the app to be clear on range of motion. When I’m giving my exercise scoring/feedback sometimes I can do it easily at the beginning of the range of motion but no reps at the other end of the range of motion. So was the exercise easy for me or hard or somewhere in between? How do I track the range progress writhin different sections of the progression? The app is not clear when exercises stay and stop. It’s the same beep and there are no verbal announcements- it should be totally clear whether I am in an active set, resting, or otherwise. I need this to be a quick filler. I’m coming at this two times a week with only 1 hour to hit mobility and calisthenics and make progress. I need it to be easy to assess at the start what I am going to be doing (quickly trying out new exercises and identifying exactly where in the range I will be). I need the app to give me autonomy over my progression and not wait for it to poorly catch up. I need this app to work for me when I need it, not when it thinks I need to get after it or how it thinks I need to get after it. Key takeaways: - timer for exercise and agility in navigating content (pause, reverse, fast forward and skip around for all features) - autonomy and alignment on progression/range/intensity integrated properly with the programming - feedback should not be ambiguous relative to range of motion and progression
