Features & Capabilities

Qfile Pro is a free companion app for QNAP NAS that lets you browse, upload, and manage your NAS files from your iPhone or iPad. It enables access anytime, anywhere, supports direct uploads from iOS, and offers easy sharing through download links or email attachments. You can perform file operations such as move, copy, rename, and delete directly from your mobile device without a computer.

Additional features include offline file reading, auto-upload of photos, and Qsync synchronization between your device and NAS (requires compatible QTS/QuTS hero versions). The app also supports file thumbnails and DLNA playback control with compatible servers, and works with common photo, music, and video formats.

User Reviews

Users praise real-time NAS access and strong QNAP compatibility, but report frequent reliability issues: difficulty discovering or connecting to NAS on some iOS versions, slow/unstable background sync and auto-upload, excessive cache and hidden download locations, and several UI/UX/stability concerns.
Pros
  • Real-time access to NAS files
  • Reliable NAS integration and plug-and-play with QNAP
  • Versatile feature set enabling a wide range of file operations
  • Solid performance and positive updates/improvements
  • Good NAS ecosystem value and reliability (when functioning)
Cons
  • Connectivity, discovery, and login problems on certain iOS versions and after firmware updates
  • Background upload/sync not functioning reliably; auto-upload often fails or requires the app to stay open
  • Heavy cache/storage usage with large temporary files and inability to auto-clear
  • Downloads and downloaded files stored in hidden locations or not easily accessible via iOS Files
  • UI/UX/readability concerns and occasional crashes during use

I have two iPhones. The one with iOS 26.4 doesn’t work anymore. It can’t find the Qnap and if I use the IP it fails to login. My other phone with iOS 18.7, it works just fine. So 1 star based on my phone with 26.4.

Very Good app for accessing my files in real time!

App takes longer to login even in local network. And it keeps logging out when switching to another app and also when device locked. So background sync is not working with current version. Please fix. From user experience point of view, it would be good to have the app detect network speed and select the video streaming resolution automatically. It’s not user friendly to select variable streaming quality for every video.
