User Reviews

Reviewers praise the app for its robust dictionary and thesaurus, helpful vocabulary-building features, and easy quick-lookups. However, recurring complaints center on intrusive and scammy ads, ad delays, and inconsistent handling of Pro purchases after updates. While the content is highly valued, the ad-heavy UX and purchase problems are the main downsides noted across multiple reviews.
Pros
  • Comprehensive dictionary and thesaurus with broad word coverage and nuanced etymology.
  • Easy to use and straightforward interface; enables quick lookups and aids writing.
  • Strong English learning features, including idioms and vocabulary tools that help learners.
  • Reliable and well used by long-time users; valued for its content and consistency.
  • Free version provides substantial functionality and remains a useful learning tool.
Cons
  • Intrusive ads and pop-ups, including time-based banners that disrupt use.
  • Pro purchases are not consistently honored after updates; users report being asked to pay again or that premium access is not supported.
  • Ads sometimes include scam or phishing-style prompts, creating misleading or alarming prompts.
  • Ad-heavy experience persists even for some users who paid for an ad-free option, reducing the value of the premium experience.

Its functionality as a dictionary and thesaurus would be hard to surpass. However, they also allow scummy scamware ads that pretend to be system messages from my phone. Ultimately, I decided that I’m more discriminating than that. Why would I lend my phone to such a vendor? So I deleted this app.
