User Reviews

Dictionary and Thesaurus Pro is widely praised for its rich feature set (dictionary, thesaurus, idioms), pronunciation, multilingual support, and a fast, user-friendly UI. Reviewers also highlight its reliability and long-term value. However, the most mentioned downsides are recurring: 1) Pro access can disappear after updates or require re-authentication, 2) stability issues like search field resets and occasional blank screens, and 3) advertising behavior in the free version, including intrusive ads or pressure to upgrade.
Pros
  • Dictionary plus thesaurus plus idioms with pronunciation, plus word games and historical facts.
  • Fast, simple, and easy-to-use UI across mobile and Windows.
  • Multilingual definitions and cross-language support.
  • Prolonged reliability and strong user loyalty from long-term use.
  • In-sentence usage examples with citations and well-constructed explanations.
Cons
  • Pro entitlement/login issues after updates: Pro access disappears or requires re-authentication; login/registration bugs.
  • Stability bugs affecting search and rendering: search field resets to previous input and occasional blank screens.
  • Ads in the free version can be intrusive; some users report adverts and others paying to remove them; inconsistent ad experience.

I would give it a five if it didn’t bounce around quite so much with my “Brain equivalents .” Also, along with Wikipedia, I believe they have the 1997 Soviet union’s Encyclopedia mentioned on occasion as reference material. I have no idea why.

To have such a most excellent resource to be conveniently found as a phone app only makes it more beloved. Whatever you missed or have forgotten from your various English classes can be made up for, clarified or expanded upon in this wonderful resource. I’ve had it for years and pretty much use it daily. Definitions, pronunciations, spellings, grammatical use, history and so much more. I treasure this app!
