User Reviews

Users report drug-free, noticeable relief from congestion and improved sleep, with easy-to-use hardware and app and professional endorsements. Recurring downsides include onboarding/offline server issues, privacy concerns around permissions and data collection, Bluetooth pairing limitations, and a relatively high price.
Pros
  • Significant relief from nasal congestion and sinus pressure; many users report clearer breathing and better sleep.
  • Drug-free alternative to nasal sprays and medications; reduces or eliminates the need for sprays.
  • Easy-to-use device and app; straightforward operation and generally responsive developer support.
  • Endorsed by healthcare professionals (ENTs, dentists, myofunctional therapists) for improving nasal breathing.
  • Can contribute to fewer infections and reduced antibiotic use due to improved nasal airflow.
Cons
  • Onboarding and offline functionality issues; server requirements can hinder first-time use.
  • Privacy concerns about mandatory camera/microphone access and invasive data collection.
  • Bluetooth connectivity can be flaky; difficulties pairing two devices simultaneously.
  • High price point (~$300) that may be a barrier for some users.
  • Some data/features (e.g., pollen forecasts) may be inaccurate or not useful.

The Sonu band itself I love and have been using for almost two years. But whoever at Sonu vibe-coded this app clearly skipped massive details. Things that were easily accessible in the previous app are now entirely gone. Core functionality also got buried. I can’t see basic things like battery life; there’s 0 warning about audio being too high; and the alignment check from pre test (to make sure you have it placed well) has been replaced with a manual voice-breath test. Pretty sure that test does nothing anyway. Give me back all of the of the old features, I do not care about my streaks or tracking metrics.

This new version of the app is so much more trouble than the old version. I keep needing to put in a username and password then go back into my iOS setting to reconnect the band. I am spending far too much time messing around with this thing just trying to get it to work. The old app just worked flawlessly every time.
