User reviews for Clipper Card on iOS are overwhelmingly negative, citing frequent login/logout problems, unreliable autopay/autoload and funds loading, and pervasive bugs with timeouts and slow performance. Forced updates and poor customer support compound frustration, while account access and card functionality (both digital and physical) are repeatedly problematic. Some users note limited positives like the ability to add value or use autopay when it works, and a tolerable AI feature, but overall reliability and support are major issues.

  • Ability to add value to the Clipper card.
  • AI-assisted feature is tolerable.
Cons
  • Frequent login/logout instability and being logged out unexpectedly.
  • Autoload/top-up failures and funds loading issues, including declines and negative balances.
  • Widespread bugs, timeouts, and slow performance affecting everyday use.
  • Forced app updates that introduce instability and disrupt usage.
  • Poor customer support with long waits and difficult access to help.

I installed this app to buy ferry tickets while visiting SF. They collected my personal information, then sent me a confirmation email. I clicked on the link in that email and got banned by their "security service ".
