User Reviews

User reviews show the Philips Headphones iOS app is plagued by compatibility/model support problems, frequent connectivity failures, and stability issues. Features are sparse (no persistent EQ/personalization, minimal controls, no local music mgmt) and the UI is often described as opaque. Some praise exists for simple configuration and occasional model-specific reliability, but overall app reliability and feature gaps are the dominant complaints despite positive headphone sound quality.
Pros
  • Simple, easy-to-use app to configure Philips headphones.
  • EQ control is available/usable on some models.
  • Some models connect to the app reliably and offer basic configuration.
Cons
  • Compatibility and model support issues across iOS devices; many headphones are not supported.
  • Unreliable connectivity and pairing; updates can break the app’s ability to see the headphones.
  • App crashes and general instability.
  • Limited features: no persistent/customizable EQ, limited personalization, no bass boost, and no local music management.
  • Poor UX/UI: opaque, nonintuitive, and confusing.

Sucks my headphones model (TAH8506) is no longer supported by the app. It was being supported till just recently. An option should be provided, throwing away perfectly mint condition headphones away and buying a new one just to receive support shouldn’t be something a customer should do. FIX IT !!
