User Reviews

User reviews show the Bose iOS app is plagued by reliability and usability problems: frequent disconnects, loss of saved devices after updates, and weak multi-device support. Many want more customization (EQ, modes, left/right isolation) and widgets. A minority praise ease of use and Bose’s brand/service when it works, but overall sentiment points to QA issues and a poor user experience.
Pros
  • Simple setup and easy pairing when the app is functioning.
  • Instant-ish Bluetooth linking / quick connection reported by some users.
  • Broad device compatibility across Bose products.
  • Positive Bose brand loyalty and perceived good customer service.
Cons
  • Unreliable connectivity: frequent disconnections and wrong-device connections; poor multi-point switching.
  • Updates erase saved devices and require re-pairing; sign-in and multi-device issues.
  • App sometimes fails to connect at all or becomes unusable after updates.
  • Lack of features and customization: limited EQ/modes, no widgets, missing voice prompts.
  • Perceived QA issues and updates that degrade the user experience.

I USE to have the Bose QC headphones. While the headset works great, say goodbye to your sanity if connect it to one or more devices. Once you do, it will never work the same ever again. It constantly tries to swap between connections constantly, forgets configuration when you turn this off, and will randomly stop working. I can deal with the terrible software and headset anymore. It’s been nothing but awful over the years, and it’s ready for the hammer. I hope the review helps one person change their mind on purchasing this headset. I would rather shove sandpaper in my ears and use that over any Bose product ever again.

Best yet, I have had several portable units over the past years from decking stations on up. This the best one as of yet. The ability to have stereo sound from one and still link together two for even better sound, not to mention the IPhone app that allows for fine tuning, it’s a game changer. Keep up the good work Bose!!!
