User Reviews

Review consensus highlights Pacific Fire’s depth, realism, and historical appeal, plus strong replay value and a pay-once model. However, users repeatedly flag saving issues for long campaigns and balance/difficulty concerns, particularly around Japanese units and how some scenarios are described.
Pros
  • Deep, realistic WW2 Pacific strategy with strong historical detail.
  • Rich multi-domain strategy that integrates air, land, and naval resources with base/province capture mechanics.
  • High replayability and variety of campaigns; no two scenarios are the same.
  • Pay-once model with no in-app purchases; perceived good value.
  • Strong appeal to history enthusiasts for accuracy and depth.
Cons
  • Saving is problematic for long campaigns: no mid-turn saves and save slots don’t reliably persist across sessions.
  • Balance/difficulty concerns: notable issues with unit balance (especially Japanese aircraft) and some scenarios' difficulty descriptions being misleading.

The reason I think Pacific Fire is the best one at all of the games is because it’s the only one where you’re actually fighting for the base or province and we’re both enemy forces and your forces could hold And bring in more troops, I also really like how some troops are given a boost to defending, and other are given boost to attack. Update?!?! Don’t forget us!!!

This game reminds me of the NES game Pacific Theatre of Operations. I enjoy being able to move forces around and create a strategy. My only issue is trying to save the longer scenarios. For the full scenario it’s not often I can spend an hour directing troops and ships. Being able to save what I’m doing would be great.
