User Reviews

Box Breathe is praised for its beautiful, simple design, affordability, and a straightforward box-breathing experience with a usable watch app. However, recurring issues limit reliability: presets cannot be saved or reliably used, the app crashes frequently, the watch app can stop or fail to stay awake, audio may fail to play consistently, and cycle handling can be unreliable. When functioning, it's a focused, minimal tool for breath work.
Pros
  • Beautifully designed and works flawlessly.
  • Simple, clean design that's easy to use.
  • Very affordable with a free version to try.
  • Simple to use with adjustable timer and customizable sounds/haptics.
  • Great Apple Watch integration (watch app) for on-the-go practice.
Cons
  • Presets can't be saved or reliably used; selecting and running a preset routine isn't possible.
  • App crashes frequently and glitches at times.
  • Apple Watch experience is unreliable: stops after a short time or won't stay awake on some models.
  • Audio issues: sound doesn't work consistently, with conflicts when silent mode is on.
  • Cycles can be ignored or stop early, making it hard to complete a session.

But I wish the overall timer of sessions were more consistent (e.g 5 minutes, 7 cycles). Sometimes it’s carried over from the last session and sometimes not.

So beautifully designed and works flawlessly

I added my desired presets, but there is no way to play the preset routine. There is no context menu. No way to select the preset routine. Allergic is to re-enter my routine every single time I want to do the routine. THIS IS A RIP OFF. IT DOES NOT WORKAS PROMISED.
