Users find the app intuitive when it works, but reliability issues dominate feedback. Major problems include login instability, slow or unhelpful support, blocked HSA cards, and delays or inaccuracies in claims/transfers. Additional frustrations involve a fragmented cross-app experience and missing convenient features (e.g., digital wallet, receipts storage) along with paper-statement fees. Overall, UX is decent but access and service reliability are the primary drawbacks.

I would recommend anyone stay from Optum for FSA. If their goal was to make everything as difficult as possible at every step, they are extremely successful. The app is good, however, there’s no easy way to submit messages or receive responses back to assist with insurance claims/receipts. They make things like submitting a breast pump through your FSA nearly impossible. Recommend avoiding at all costs…if you have a choice. I’ve had 6 different insurances and the FSA through them is far and away the WORST experience I’ve had.
