Features & Capabilities

Providence’s mobile app is a one-stop health hub for Providence services, programs, and resources—available 24/7 across supported locations. It lets you connect with your care team, book appointments, access ExpressCare virtual visits, check wait times, and view or share medical records all from one place.

People can pay bills, check eligibility for financial assistance, get personalized health reminders, discover relevant health programs, browse expert content, and use Grace—the Providence chat assistant—for self-serve help. If you have a MyChart account, you sign in with the same credentials; if not, you can create an account in the app. Providence health services span Alaska, Washington, Montana, Oregon, California, New Mexico, and Texas.

User Reviews

Providence’s iOS app is generally easy to use and supports scheduling, messaging with providers, and viewing test results with real-time data. Users appreciate the appointment charts and care coordination. However, recurring issues include app stability (crashes, payments failing), login/security hurdles (password saving, Touch ID/Face ID), and privacy/communication concerns around MyChart notices and data sharing. Overall, strengths in usability and care coordination are offset by reliability and privacy-related drawbacks.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive interface
  • Scheduling appointments, sending messages to providers, and viewing test results
  • Real-time access to medical information and cross-provider data sharing
  • Appointment check-in and time charts help keep visits on schedule
  • Positive care coordination and professional staff feedback
Cons
  • App reliability issues, including crashes and payment features not opening
  • Login and security problems such as difficulty saving passwords and setting up Touch ID/Face ID
  • Privacy concerns related to MyChart data sharing and notices without clear context
  • Occasional misrouting of messages and overall confusion with some features

Just called to add my knee pain to a doctors appointment for my shoulder pain. I thought it was great that they allowed me to get both issues taken care of in the one visit.

Just download mychart instead if you can — it’s slow, but definitely faster than this app. With the bonus of not hovering an AI chatbot you didn’t ask for over the interface
