To get access: • Download the app • Enter your member ID number • Enter your 4-digit PIN which is located on the back of your ID card (lower left hand corner). Providence E-Card can centralize digital family insurance cards and enable sharing with doctors, but it is plagued by reliability issues (login errors, crashes, slow loads) and restrictions (Medicare lettered IDs, area limits). PIN/reset options are inadequate, UI feels dated, and wallet/app integrations are missing. When it works, it's convenient and reduces card clutter.

Pros

Displays digital versions of insurance cards for all family members with per-member images.
Can fax or email the card directly from the app to a doctor's office.
No separate login—uses the existing PIN and Member ID from the physical card.
Reduces the need to carry physical cards for the whole family.

Cons

Frequent login failures with 'invalid member ID' or 'area not supported' errors.
App crashes, slow loading, and unreliability across iOS versions.
Medicare IDs with letters cannot be entered and there are geographic/plan restrictions.
PIN reset or account recovery options are missing.
Dated UI with confusion on onboarding, plus lack of Apple Wallet integration and cross-app coherence.

Needing the pin off the card to access the card EVERYTIME is the most short sighted design in the history of a app development. Given that app misspells providence in the app name in the ios task manager, I guess we shouldn’t expect much.
