User Reviews

User feedback is mixed: the app’s UI is praised for being easy to use and onboarding can be straightforward, with some users able to sign up and rent smoothly. However, recurring problems outweigh positives: many report hidden and disputed charges, unclear pricing, and various extra fees; the app is prone to reliability issues like crashes and failures to unlock or charge cars; billing problems and slow refunds; complaints about customer support and contact options; and occasional bad car maintenance. Overall, usable but plagued by billing, reliability, and service issues.
Pros
  • Easy to use UI/UX with a comfortable, intuitive interface.
  • Generally functional for renting; the app works well for some users.
  • Sign-up and onboarding are straightforward, with easy photo-based verification where available.
Cons
  • Hidden fees and unclear pricing, including rookie fees, processing fees, top-up charges, and duplicate charges.
  • Frequent app reliability problems: crashes, freezing, and failures to unlock or start charging.
  • Billing and payment problems, such as expired cards, dunning notices, and slow refunds.
  • Poor or unhelpful customer support, with limited contact options and slow responses.
  • Car quality and maintenance concerns, such as worn interiors and non-working AC.

The amount of free km and the fee for extra protection change! I was shown 100km included and extra protection fee of €10, however invoice shows only 35km included and the protection fee charge €15. Also, I had a voucher which I would have liked to keep for a different trip, but it was automatically applied, without having the option to use it at a different time. Lastly, the filter is faulty. When set to look for vans it always showed that zero vehicles match the criteria. With the filter disabled, I was able to find a van, however directions to the car or the address where the van is parked were not shown or didn’t work. All in all a solid 1 star experience 🥴

After I canceled a fueling session and selected a different fueling pump, the app glitched and incorrectly continued to use the previous pump number. When I tried to clear this up with Miles customer service, I was blamed for the incident and threatened with vague contractual penalties should something like this happen again. This is an absurd way to treat a customer. Not one of their tips for avoiding this kind of incident actually applied to my situation. Therefore, it was entirely Mile's fault. I sacrificed my time to refuel the car when I technically didn't need to (it was at 30% or so) and I made sure that Miles lost no money in the mixup. Customer service implied I was a liar and said their systems did not detect any glitch. I find it hard to believe that they have a system so advanced that it can detect that absolutely no glitches occurred in a particular time window, even with a user-interface. I'm pretty sure such technology does not exist. This leaves me with unacceptable legal uncertainty in using the app. What if a more serious glitch occurred but was asserted by Miles not to have occurred? This was only my second time using Miles and I cannot risk my neck continuing to use it. Also, the customer service is extremely bad at reading emails. I had to re-explain what happened several times before they even demonstrated that they correctly understood what I had written. Unfortunately, I never got them to retract their threats, so Miles stands unapologetic in this matter.
