User Reviews

Most reviews focus on harsh fare policies and privacy concerns rather than usefulness. Frequent complaints include an $8 on-board surcharge, aggressive location tracking, and opaque pricing. Users also cite unreliable or incomplete train-tracking information and weak customer support. A minority find the app easy to navigate and helpful for tracking trains, but recurring issues appear across reviews, signaling a need for policy changes, transparency, and reliability improvements.
Pros
  • Easy to navigate interface and easy ticket purchasing
  • Provides train status/tracking information
  • Some users find the app useful for tracking trains despite other issues
Cons
  • On-board activation surcharge / $8 penalty for not activating before boarding
  • Frequent location tracking / privacy concerns
  • Pricing is opaque and inconsistent (no clear fare breakdown; charges differ from planned fares)
  • Inaccurate or missing train information (track numbers not shown or updated late)
  • Poor customer support / account issues and unresponsive help

You can only purchase 1 ticket in 15 mins to credit towards rewards program. If you purchase multiple, it will not credit it. It is forcing you to purchase right before you ride.

Want to travel this weekend? Good luck. MTA cant pay their workers because the head of office is too greedy. Took away all usefull mid-long term passes, as-well as meaningful ticket packages. Company is going under the bank any day now. They cant keep up maintenance and it shows. Look up LIRR maintenance and you will see what they are covering up.

So they hack the fare up and you would think Ohok after a certain amount of rides you get a free tick. Your ticket doesn’t last long. It’s a rip Off especially when you don’t have to be back to work within the 13hrs they give you to use it.The free ticket should at least expire after 48 hrs
