Features & Capabilities

Flagium — modern successor of the popular FlagFox extension for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox.

Displays the country flag of the actual server you're visiting directly in the toolbar. The extension icon dynamically changes to the flag of the website's hosting country.

Features

  • 🌍 Dynamic toolbar icon with country flag
  • 📍 Real server IP detection (via webRequest)
  • 🏙 City, Country, Organization/ISP information
  • 📋 One-click copy for IP, organization and hostname
  • ⚡ Smart caching (doesn't spam APIs)
  • 🔄 Manual refresh button
  • 🛠 Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Firefox and other Chromium-based browsers
  • 🧩 Built with Manifest V3 (modern extension architecture, improved security and performance)
How it works

The extension captures the real IP address the browser connects to and uses reliable GeoIP services (geojs.io or ipinfo.io + DNS-over-HTTPS fallback) to show accurate location data.

Perfect for developers, system administrators, security researchers, and anyone who wants to know where their websites are hosted.

Privacy-friendly: No data collection. All requests go directly to public GeoIP services.

Is Flagium Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Flagium requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Flagium is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
