Capture The Flag — privacy-focused browser extension to determine website country.

You have the right to know where your data has traveled through.

This extension has a built-in IP to country database. On top of that it uses a bunch of heuristics to determine a real website country, which often can be reliably guessed by the HTTP headers the website responds with.

This information is then presented in accessible way using either your OS native emoji or the beautiful emojis by Twemoji.

It's 2021. Cloud adoption is projected to only increase over the coming years. Every single website owner nowadays has gotten access to an affordable global CDN infrastructure provided by many cloud platforms. Yet, all other country flag extensions still rely solely on IP address country detection. It's time to get smarter than that.

The extension does not store any analyzed information and it never leaves your device.

Thanks, Great UI and functioning better than other alternatives. the only problem is that when using proxy, it cannot find site IP and shows the location of proxy server for all sites.

Excellent. I just hope this 'Capture The Flag' (CTF) extension will update its location database, as Flagfox does. Speaking of Flagfox, a reviewer on the extension's AMO page complained that "It doesn't show the hosting provider, just the ISP. E.g. the webservers for invidious.snopyta.org are in Finland even though Hetzner Online GmbH is Germany-based, and the extension shows a German IP address." Well, CTF does it : ISP location and Country of Registration, when distinct. Setting a country's flag as an extension's toolbar button on a 16px grid is hard to see, especially for little known countries. Why not replace the flag with the country's code? Best extension I know for discovering a page's ISP and registration. It does only that but does it well.
