Walkgate : Steps Unlock Apps

Walkgate helps you turn screen addiction into fitness. It blocks your most distracting apps until you reach your daily step goal, rewarding every walk with app unlock time. Walk more, scroll less, and build healthier habits every day.

⚙️ HOW IT WORKS :
You choose which apps to block, set your walk goal, and decide how many steps unlock how many minutes. Open a blocked app without earned time and Walkgate stops you with a lock screen. Walk, hit your goal, and you get access. As you use those apps, Walkgate tracks the time and deducts it from what you earned.

• Earn screen time by walking
• Track steps with Health Connect or your phone's motion sensor
• See screen time and usage stats
• Set daily step goals and keep streaks going
• Adjust unlock rules (steps per reward, minutes earned)

🔒 PRIVACY & SECURITY :
Your data stays on your device. Walkgate does not run servers for your personal data. Steps, app usage, blocked apps, and settings are processed locally for blocking, tracking, and stats.

⚙️ PERMISSIONS :
Walkgate needs a few permissions to work:
• Usage Access to monitor app usage and block selected apps
• Health Connect or Activity Recognition to count steps for unlock rewards
• Display over other apps to show the blocking screen
• Notifications to keep the monitoring service running in the background

You can turn any of these off in Android settings, but the related features will stop working.
