Link Checker

Link Checker

Link checking using XHR.

What is Link Checker?
'Link Checker' is a Chrome extension designed to check the status of various links on a webpage. It uses XHR (XMLHttpRequest) to identify and categorize links that have failed, timed out, or returned some error when sending the HTTP request. Links that returned a status code in the range of 200-400 are marked green, while error codes are marked red. Timed out or other error links are marked blue, and blacklisted links are grayed out. It initially tries to send an HTTP HEAD and then falls back to GET.

Would have loved it but I need a link checker that marks anchor tags as a different color than green. For example, A href with value "#notvalid" shows up as green even though the link does not work. If you made it a different color (perhaps yellow) to indicate that it may be valid.

Clicking on the button has no effect. Tried various pages including a simple page with just some text and a link. Nothing.
