User Reviews

Reviewers broadly praise Want My RSS as a rare working option to view RSS in Firefox after native support was dropped, especially for rendering feeds as webpages. However, several users report serious downsides: extremely slow and CPU-intensive loading for large feeds; non-portable, per-install URLs that break bookmarks/history when syncing across devices; compatibility issues on Android Nightly and with certain sites; and occasional complete failures to load. The extension is valued for continuing RSS access and a nicer UI, but reliability and cross-device usability remain concerns.
Pros
  • One of the few working options for viewing RSS in Firefox after native support was removed.
  • Allows viewing RSS feeds as a webpage inside Firefox, which matches the main user need.
  • Noted for a nicer UI compared to some alternatives.
  • Trusted by long-time users as a daily replacement and recommended extension.
Cons
  • Very slow loading for feeds with many entries, causing long load times and high CPU usage.
  • Per-install unique feed URLs make bookmarking, history, and syncing across devices problematic.
  • Compatibility issues on Android Nightly and with certain sites (e.g., KDE discuss) limiting usefulness.
  • Occasional reports of the extension not loading or doing nothing.

Used-to be great. Over the past 1+ month, NOTHING loads for me. The sites it's loading from are perfectly fine, it only looks like it is waiting for them. Must be some 3rd party resource this extension wants to load. Tried another RSS viewer extension and things load instantly. This extension is broken.
