GOV.UK One Login lets you prove your identity to access participating government services by matching your face to an approved photo ID. The app guides you through signing in with your GOV.UK One Login details, taking a photo of your ID, scanning biometric chips when required (passports, BRP, BRC, FWP), and scanning your face. It supports UK passport, non‑UK biometric passports, UK photocard driving licences, BRP/BRC, and Frontier Worker permits; expired BRP/BRC/FWP are accepted up to 18 months after expiry.

You can also save a digital HM Armed Forces Veteran Card to your phone; future support will include additional documents such as driving licences. The app requires an Android phone running Android 10 or higher and a well-lit area for quality photos. Personal identity data submitted to prove identity is not stored on the app or phone and is deleted when no longer needed, while any digital documents you add are saved locally on your device for convenient access.

very frustrating, took multiple attempts to get driving license scan accepted then cannot confirm identity. If a private company used this app they would be bankrupt in days.
