TuneShift Firefox

TuneShift

Shift YouTube audio by semitones and adjust playback speed in real time, built for musicians, vocalists, and focused practice.

Features & Capabilities

TuneShift puts pitch and tempo controls directly beside your YouTube practice session.

Use it to transpose a song into a comfortable key, slow down a difficult passage, speed up a lesson, or match a track to your instrument without leaving the video page.

Features:

  • Shift YouTube audio up or down in semitone steps.
  • Choose playback-speed presets from 0.5x to 2x.
  • Control pitch and tempo independently.
  • Reset pitch and speed with one click.
  • Switch between dark and light themes.
  • Keep settings active while navigating between videos in the same tab.
TuneShift works only on YouTube pages. Audio processing happens locally in Firefox, and TuneShift does not collect or transmit user data.

Real-time pitch shifting can introduce audio artifacts depending on the source video and selected settings. TuneShift is a practice tool and is not intended to replace professional audio software.

TuneShift is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube.

Is TuneShift Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

TuneShift requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.
